Electric, Water, and Sewer services for residents and businesses are provided by the City of Beresford. The City of Beresford also provides Cable TV, Internet, Telephone, and Surveillance Systems through Beresford Municipal Telephone Company (BMTC)

Utility Bills Consist of: 

  • Electric

  • Garbage Pickups

  • Water

  • Sewer

  • Surcharges

  • Tax

  • Penalties (if applicable)

  • Misc. (if applicable)

Electric, Sewer, & Water are billed 2 months behind in order to calculate the bills. Ex: January's consumption will be March's bill. 

Garbage is billed each month. Ex: January's consumption will be February's bill.

Important Dates:

  1. Utility Bills & BMTC Bills are mailed at the end of every month. Due by the 15th of the following month.​

  2. 5% Late Fee added and a Delinquent Letter mailed on the 18th of the month. (If payment is not received by the 15th of the month.)

Need Utilities Set Up? 

​You will need to fill out our Utility Application form, give us a copy of your Driver's License and pay your deposit before your services are turned on. We only accept Check, Cash, or Money Orders for the deposit.

You can bring the application and deposit to City Hall during operating hours.

Renters: $200.00

    Deposit returned after 12 consecutive, timely payments.

Owners: Residential - $75.00

               Commercial - $100.00

    Deposit returned after 6 consecutive, timely payments.

Moving Out of Town or Houses? Here is what you need to do!

  1. Contact City Hall and give them the following information:

    1. Forwarding Address​

    2. Official last day

    3. Good contact phone number

    4. Who is taking over; new owner/landlord.

  2. If you have BMTC services, return any rented equipment to avoid fines.​
