Police Department

The City of Beresford has a Chief of Police and four full-time officers. The City maintains 24-hour coverage, protecting the citizens and businesses of Beresford.  The department is active in enforcing the laws of the State of South Dakota along with the ordinances of Beresford.

The Beresford Police Department's foremost responsibility is to protect and serve the citizens of Beresford. This is accomplished through proactive and reactive law enforcement services. The proactive approach is done through visibility and community programs. The reactive approach is responding to emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.

​

The Police Department is located at 310 N. 4th Street. Our Police Department may be contacted for non-emergencies by calling our office at (605) 763-2100 or by emailing the Chief of Police at pdchief@bmtc.net. If you call our office and we are unavailable, your call will be redirected to Union County Dispatch in Elk Point.
